Belikuduk Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Along the Belikuduk column, Muruntau Mountains, Central Kyzylkum. E.V. Malova, 1963 (266, p.46; 441, p.66). Stratotype in the central part of the Muruntau Mountains.
Synonym: Belikuduk Suite, Беликудукская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Divided into two subzones.
Upper (thickness 104m) - dark gray, gray, nodular and aphinitic, medium- to thick-bedded limestones.
Lower (thickness 278m) - rhythmically interbedded organogenic-detrital dark gray to black, thin- and medium-bedded, banded, clayey limestones, calcareous siltstone (aleurolites) of yellowish-green to reddish-brown color, layered dark gray dolomites.
Total thickness of the suite is 382m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformably overlies the Auliekudzhumdin Fm
Upper contact
Conformably overlain by the Aznek Fm.
Regional extent
Central Kyzylkum, Tamdytau and Sangruntau Mountains. It is an analogue of the Central Aristantau Fm and Dzhanakhmet Fm (Janahmetian Fm) in the Aristantaus Mountains. (460).

Fossils
Upper – Containing individual recrystallized amphiporoids, foraminifers (495) and conodonts Polygnathus decorosus Stauf., allowing to refer the upper subzone to the Famennian (165).
Lower – Contains stromatoporoids - Actinostroma">Actinostroma nicholsoni Yavor., Trupetostroma">Trupetostroma bassleri Lec., Amphipora rudis Lec. and others; brachiopods - Theodossia anossofi Vern., Gypidula sp.; foraminifers - Bisphaera irregularis Bir., Tuberitina maljavkini Mikh. and others, characterizing the Frasnian stage.
